I spent years exploring pills, potions, lotions, diets, and anything external that I thought would rid me of the weight I carried. But food, my friend! Food had become control, love, bonding, reward, and even punishment in my life. I actually became scared of food, because I didn’t know what or how to eat. It was restrictive, and I never felt the emotional freedom that weight loss promised me; I was either at and unhappy, or losing weight but still unhappy.
So after my surgery, when I began to stall, and then regain weight, I became determined to understand and learn everything I could about weight loss. I studied energy healing, neuroscience, Bariatric science, mindfulness, and nutrition. I explored common patterns associated with binge eating, strategies for self-care, and self-acceptance and I began to examine ways in which the weight loss community had utterly failed me
